Buchu leaf extract is found in our Serum. Our Buchu is sustainably wild harvested in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Buchu (Barosma betulina) is a small, green, woody plant that grows only in the mountains of the South Western Cape of South Africa

The San and Khoi tribes use buchu as a perfume and to treat wounds and skin ailments. Buchu was an important part of the Khoi culture in the Cape and is still used throughout Southern Africa as a general health tonic. The leaves are chewed fresh or dried, or infusions are made.

ORIGIN OF NAME BUCHU
The Khoi named the plant, bookoo which means "dusting powder," as Buchu was originally used as a powder to deter insects.
